Yes, I used to believe that I delayed my calling.

But God has taught me over the past few months that nothing can delay the plans He has for us.

At 19 years of age, God first put a deep passion and drive in my heart.

Yes, I believe that in my spirit I’ve known my calling since I was barely on the verge of adulthood.

The best way I can describe it is as a vivid vision that was calling to me from the future.

He’s led me through several detours before I finally answered this calling.

Many of these detours felt like I was sabotaging myself and failing due to fear or feeling unworthy of this vision.

But now I know with complete certainty that all I’ve been through, and all I put myself through, has led me to the right place.

When I first shifted my coaching business to working with Christians, I felt inadequate. I knew that I fell short.

But in my Bible Study and prayer time, God led me to read these verses as an answer to my doubts:

Romans 8:28

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who I have been called according to his purpose.

29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”

In every moment when I felt less than, or when I compared myself to others who seemed to have more knowledge, a bigger platform, or were spiritually more mature, I reminded myself of these verses. And felt peace.

When I look back in retrospect, I can see clearly that every choice, every ‘mistake’, and every detour has served to equip me for the task at hand, the task God has called me to.

I am typing this to encourage those who have not yet found their calling or have not followed it.

Your feeling of inadequacy or your guilt for not following His calling sooner is keeping you stuck.

If you feel weak, let Him be your strength.

If you lack knowledge or discernment, let Him be your wisdom and insight.

If you feel like your current circumstance does not allow for any significant change or shifts, let Him show you a way to answer the calling, with what you have and where you are in this moment.

And if you need to talk with someone who can truly listen, and hear not just what you say, but also what is left unsaid – reach out to me.
