A lifetime of spiritual revelations and lessons, combined with amazing training into nutrition, wellness, and behavior change by Cadence Health & Nutrition Coaching Institute, has guided me towards creating a unique coaching approach which does not only help my clients make different choices in the moment, but also change the emotional and spiritual roots of those choices, so they can sustain and adapt those choices for a lifetime.
I support Christian women to realize their vision of a happier and healthier life through private and group coaching, workshops, speaking, courses, and free resources.
I completed my Health & Nutrition Coach Qualification through Cadence College of Nutrition and Health Coaching and I'm currently acquiring my NLP Practitioner Qualification through iNLP Centre. The fields of nutrition, health, psychology, and spirituality have always fascinated me, and I expect to continue learning for the rest of my life.
I have learned that in order to obtain and maintain complete health and wellness, one has to address every area of a person.
These profound, deep and still mysterious parts that make up who we are - our body, mind, and soul - need to be in balance with each other, because if one part is compromised, the others can very likely to be impacted as well.
A very important resource I use in my work is my intuition - that still small voice. Each client's story and dreams are as unique as a fingerprint, so I do not believe in approaching each session with the same outcome in mind. What I know, is that a candid, deep conversation about all aspects of your wellness, can reveal many things about what is pulling your life out of balance.
In this super-connected world we that are living in, it is easier than ever to search for anything you could possibly want to learn about. But there are also downsides to this. One of which is that there is so much conflicting information about exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle, that it can become quite frustrating to many women who are trying to sort the facts from the fads.
I want to put the power of knowledge back into your hands.
If you work with me, you will not get a "diet" or a standard protocol to follow. Each person needs, enjoys, and craves different things, so how could we possibly all benefit from following the same lifestyle? We will work out a unique roadmap to your own wellness lifestyle. I will teach you why certain habits, tools, and behaviors are beneficial in your journey, so you can take control of your health and create the awesome life you desire.
Your mindset (beliefs, values, and internal dialogue), if faulty or negative, can limit your potential and sabotage your efforts for the rest of your life. This will affect and be affected by your mental and emotional health. Your mindset can be influenced by certain barriers (false beliefs, insecurities, fears etc, the way you talk to yourself), in which case any changes to your habits or improvements to your behavior, could revert back eventually. During our time together, we will deep dive into your past failed attempts and doubts. Through candid open conversation about your past, present, and future, we will uncover the barriers that are limiting your potential.
We will create new statements to affirm your amazing potential, and daily techniques to strengthen your resolve and crush those barriers every time they rise up.
I have seen proof in mine and many other women's lives, that spiritual health is tantamount to whole-person wellness. Together we will also work on this area of your health. I would not be very impactful or insightful in my work if I did not have the still small voice that I listen to every day. Every person knows that intuition is important, and many of us have seen the difference it can when we are truly connected to it, following it's calling in every decision we make.
My intuition is directly linked with and influenced by, my profoundly important relationship with God and my willingness to let His Spirit guide me.
There many techniques that can be useful in restoring or strengthening your faith. They may include prayer, affirmations, and meditations grounded in Biblical truth or studying scripture. I wholeheartedly believe that a passionate spiritual life is a vital part of your journey to happiness and wellness, but I will always ask permission before discussing your faith or spirituality.
The pain and rejection from my past drive me to be a passionate and purpose driven woman.
Since childhood, I have been stuck in a faulty mindset, which caused constant and frustrating self-limiting behavior. Throughout my life, I remember feeling like the ugly duckling, like I didn't belong, wasn't pretty enough, wasn't smart enough, wasn't disciplined enough, wasn't worthy of love and acceptance.
I struggled with social anxiety, even when I had to talk to a stranger over the phone, or I had to recite a speech in front of my class.
The best way for me to describe it is that it felt like something was literally pushing me back, my mind would go blank, it was close to a feeling of dread when someone would try to force me to do something that triggered my anxiety. I felt embarrassed every time I failed, like when I didn't do well in school, when I avoided learning to drive, when I refused to talk to a client or authority figure, or when I didn't accomplish an important goal.
I always knew intuitively that I had the innate abilities necessary to be successful, but for some reason, something was holding me back. Today I know what false beliefs and assumptions were holding me back my entire life, but it has been a long journey to get to this place.
I experienced my first spiritual breakthrough when I was 16 and started to date the man I prayed for, who is now my husband. As our relationship grew, I realized that I am worthy of love, because he loved me deeply, if not perfectly. Over time I had a spiritual breakthrough, I mean a personal soul to soul experiences with my Maker, that really grounded my belief that I am loved, that I am worthy of that love because He made me who and what I am.
So I started to push myself, little by little, overcoming my social anxiety, improving my performance at work, meeting and talking to new people, making new friends much easier than before.
The emotional or physical absence of a parent can equate to rejection in the mind of a child.
When I started to work through my past pain, I wanted to blame my father for my emotional blocks. But as Tony Robbins would say, if I want to blame him, I have to really blame him - blame him for the good as well as the bad. My father was depressed for most of my life, and just as we started to reconnect, he passed away. But if it weren't for my journey of grief, I would not be who I am today. As a child and adolescent, I did not understand depression and suicide, I believed that he chose to leave us and this world, but I now realize that for him it ran much deeper and that he eventually felt that it was inescapable.
When I started my training through Cadence Institute of Nutrition and Health Coaching, I believed that my journey to physical health was the reason I wanted to help other women, but it was much more significant for me.
If I had the perfect childhood, I probably would not be this passionate about helping other people out of their emotional demons, to create a fulfilling and purpose driven life.
Healing PCOS Naturally.
For most of my life, I struggled with negative body image, poor eating habits, and fluctuating weight.
I went from being the smallest kid in high school, perhaps even underweight, to being overweight in less than 6 months. Like most girls, I tried to eat healthier, but really, I had no idea what "healthy" was, and puberty wasn't making it easier. I also struggled with excess facial hair, hormonal acne and hectic periods.
It was only when I turned 26 and started planning a family, that I decided to seek medical help and get to the bottom of my symptoms as they seemed to be getting progressively worse. To my shock, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
PCOS is a complex hormonal, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects up to 15% of women. In the aftermath of this diagnosis, I learned that this meant I was at increased risk of being infertile, developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even certain types of cancer. Because I always wanted to be a mother, this left me emotional and very concerned. My way of dealing with this diagnosis, as with anything that troubled me, was to read. I learned as much as I could about PCOS. I quickly found that there were changes I had to make to my lifestyle, in order to balance my hormones and improve my short-term and long-term health.
Thankfully, I accomplished these changes using natural and holistic techniques that at first felt difficult and overwhelming, but soon became a part of my life and helped me to feel more energized and optimistic about my future.
Dieting never seemed to work for me, so I decided to develop my own roadmap of eating habits and lifestyle choices that would nourish and heal my body, but that I could truly enjoy and maintain easily. Within 8 months I felt fitter and healthier, two months after that, my hormones were balanced and I fell pregnant. I maintained my healthy and active lifestyle together with reducing exposure to toxins, which helped me truly enjoy the pregnancy with very little discomfort and only moderate weight gain.
To prepare for the birth I used special mindset training techniques daily, with the help of a Hypnobirthing Practitioner, which helped me lower my anxiety and connect with my body and my baby.
I truly believe that these natural and spiritual strategies were mostly to thank for my easy and joyful pregnancy and wonderful birth (a wonderful birth? - no I am not exaggerating).
Ever since these amazing outcomes have realised in my own life, I have been determined to help other women so they can also experience each day to the fullest, by creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle using the natural and alternative choices I discover on my journey.
